Deleted Python 2 and got black screen

I was converting to using Python3. So I did sudo apt purge python2. After doing that all I have is a black screen. The board works (little red and green lights flicker and the Raspberries flash on screen before going to blank screen).

I downloaded fresh image and still has same behavior of blank screen, no desktop, no OS.
